So here we are.  Today is our seventh wedding anniversary.  There were some days in the past seven years that I surely didn’t think that we would make it to this day as a married couple.  Luckily for both of us, the love that we have for one another has certainly outweighed every other obstacle that we have encountered.  How did we actually do it?  I have no idea.  We have both learned what it means to compromise, that’s for sure. 

K is a controller and a true Type A personality.  He struggles with it daily.  Sometimes he frustrates me with it.  Usually, he frustrates himself.  In his defense though, I have to say that he is very different than when we were first married.  He certainly has learned to control it to the best of his ability.

I am a pleaser.  To a fault, I want to be sure that everyone else around me is satisfied and pleased with everything.  Dealing with this on a daily basis is enough to send anyone into a frenzy.  Can you imagine living with someone who always lets you get your way?  Well, now that I say it, maybe not always.  *wink*

Anyway, after seven years, we fit together well.  We make each other crazy too.  I leave dirty dishes in the sink all the time.  I never, ever finish folding all of the laundry on a Sunday night.  And, I always let the gas go to fumes before re-filling, in hopes that I will not be the one required to actually go to the gas station.  Of course, he has his share too.  He always leaves the knife on the counter after he pulls it out of the silverware drawer to cut something open.  He always leaves the toilet lid up when he is done (allowing the cats play in the toilet water).  And, he never answers the phone when it rings.

I guess we have both learned that these things aren’t important.  We both have our own important things.  They are the ones that keep us loving one another, right?  Here’s a short list of mine:

• He is desperate to make me a baby
• He is the most committed person that I have ever met
• He tells me I’m beautiful when he thinks it, even when I don’t feel it
• He thinks I’m sexy (honestly) even though I think otherwise
• He is honest, sometimes to a fault
• He gets me coffee on a regular basis (leaves for work, stops for coffee, and comes back just to bring me mine)
• He does all the laundry, no matter how much
• He is a great cook
• He tickles me and makes me laugh so hard that I gasp for breath
• He snuggles with me as we drift off to sleep
• He wakes from that pre-sleep dopiness (when you don’t know what you are saying) and tells me how much he loves me and how lucky he is to have me in his life
• He knows my thoughts and fears better than I do myself

Okay, I am chunnering on and on here…that’s okay, it’s another one of my amazing qualities!
